Translation for Individuals
Working with clients who are individuals and do not engage in business is definitely not a daily occurrence at the Translation Practice of Lukasz Gos-Furmankiewicz. This does not change the fact that every client is welcome and every client is important.
Especially one of our core values, which is friendly and direct contact with our clients might be appreciated by an individual, non-business customer.
Just like business clients, our individual clients may always talk to the translator and need not make it between nine and five.
Just like in the case of our business clients, what is confidential remains confidential and deadlines are set in stone.
We make sure to inform a non-business, individual customer of any applicable rates, as well as specific issues he or she might not be familiar with.
Information for consumers (Polish/EU law)
A client being is a consumer if the translation ordered is not in connection with that client's business enterprise. According to Polish and EU law, such a client is entitled to withdraw from the contract within 10 days, except when the translation starts before the end of that 10 day period according to the client's wish or where the translation is personalised. All or almost all translations fall within here, so please consider that the 10 day right of withdrawal most probably does not apply.
Our Terms and Conditions of Service are available here. Among other things, they regulate the terms of payment and the procedure for complaints and claims. They do not restrict certain absolute rights that consumers may have under the law.
Please note that we are a Polish firm and operate in accordance with the laws of Poland and EU laws apply by virtue of Poland's membership in the European Union. We are explicitly not a US or UK (or Australian or Canadian etc.) company. You are dealing with a foreign company. Our Terms and Conditions stipulate that your order is regarded as placed in Poland and that we only go to Polish courts and under Polish law. The way we work (e.g. specific customs, practices and approaches) may be different from how translators work in your country.
